The class will be taught over 4 sessions. Each session will last 2 to 2.5 hours.

Lesson 1: Elements of Effective Landscapes

Creating great images starts in camera and with a solid foundation. It’s more than shutter speed , aperture and ISO. In this session we explore the elements that create an effective landscape image. We discuss how technical execution, great composition and a compelling subject create an effective image. W also discuss how the quality of your gear can play a key roll in your images.

Lesson 2: Use of Lens and Light in Landscape Photography

Here we explore one of the most important elements of a landscape image, light! Knowing how quality and direction of light plays a key role in establishing your story and mood of your photograph. We discuss how lens choice can effect the look and feel of your image. Every image has its challenges! We explore the techniques of focus stacking and hyperfocal distance so you can create images that are sharp from your foreground to your background! You may be asking “How do I compose a proper composition?” We also discus composition, allowing you to create a compelling image.

Lesson 3: Use of Creative Filters

Every photographer has their tool box of techniques and gear that helps them create their images. In session three we discuss the essential filters that every landscape photographer should have in their tool box; polarizer, neutral density and warming filters to name a few!

Lesson 4: Bringing it all Together

This is where we bring it all home! After recapping the previous sessions, we take it to the next level! We discuss how planning and technology like smart phone apps and telling a story create compelling images. Completing the creative circle is discussed in this final session with ways to printed share your images!
