Advanced Exposure Techniqueswith Canon

Enter the world of EOS and gain an advanced understanding of exposure. We will help you learn more about how your camera sees light and how that information is conveyed to you. Learn how to take advantage of that information to make intelligent exposure decisions. You will see many examples of great photography and learn techniques to improve how you use your camera as a creative tool. 

During this class you will:  

  • Review the various methods your camera uses to meter your environment and leverage your camera’s light meter to take full control of your exposure. 
  • Understand what the histogram is really telling you, what affects its profile and how to use that information to properly expose your photo. 
  • Learn what “Expose To The Right”, or ETTR really means and how best to take advantage of it for your landscape, architecture, macro or product photography.  

This class is for an intermediate level photographer. 

 

 

Welcome to the EOS R System

This class is intended to get the EOS R customer excited and informed about how the R System was developed, what is offers, and how it is different from any other mirrorless camera.  The RF mount and RF lenses are discussed.  Class emphasis is on the EOS R5 and R6 as the real functionality of these cameras is revealed.

This class is for anyone who has purchased or considering purchase of an R System camera.

 

 

BEYOND THEEOS R Basics

Go beyond the basics of your EOS R System Camera.  We’ll dive deeper into the menus, auto focus, camera settings and tips and tricks.  Join us to learn and explore.  Stay afterwards to ask your questions.

Bird Photography with the Canon EOS R System

Spring is here, and so are the birds.   John Stoilov will present a visual walk through of menus and settings to optimize your Canon EOS RP, EOS R, EOS R6 and EOS R5 cameras for Bird photography.  Learn about Lenses, Auto Focus, and Custom Camera and Button settings.  This will be an Intermediate class as we are not going over Exposure settings like what a Shutter Speed is.  

Level: Intermediate to Advanced photographer 

 

 

Flash: Mastering Exposure

Take your creativity to the next level by learning the fundamentals about how flash photography really works and how to take advantage of directly controlling your lighting. We will be going over the basics of ambient exposure and how flash exposure differs. We will review how these differences can be used to enhance your creative vision by controlling your environment with flash in an intelligent way. You will see many examples of great photography and understand how a better understanding of flash will improve how you use your camera system as a creative tool.  

This is class is great for beginners or Intermediate level photographers. 

 

 

Learning the Variables

What exactly is ISO, shutter speed and aperture? Have you been trying to get started with your camera but are confused on how these variables work? Learn what it takes to manage depth of field, motion control, and noise management in this class going over the basics of controlling your variables.

Want to learn a fun and easy in-camera photography technique that will take your photography to the next level? Want to be inspired?

This class will be taught by Cassandra Caldwell.  She is going to showcase the awesome multiple exposure function that is available in-camera on DSLR’s and the EOS R mirrorless cameras. 

This class is designed for every level of photographer, key market is canon users for the in-depth menu settings.  The photographic creativity and editing content can be for all camera brands.

This is your chance to learn more about Canon’s new PRO-300 professional photo printer and how to make the most of its features to produce remarkable prints.  We’ll take you to the next step in crafting great prints, with details about its new matte black ink. 

Class works for anyone with interest in printing and easy enough for any experience level. 

 

 

Street Photography

This class teaches street photography skill, how to tell the story of your setting, lenses to use and importantly street photography etiquette. There will be visual examples shown as well. Also offered as a photo walk combination. 

Intermediate Level photographers will be comfortable taking this course. If you have had an intro to photography course before, Learning the Variables course, or shoot in Av, Tv, M, or P modes, this course is for your skill level.

Travel Photography: Versatility in Storytelling
