Tuesday, March 4th, Online
Saturday, March 8th, In Person
Photographers need to rekindle their creativity
To avoid the pitfalls of numbers and technical confusion
Returning to Simplicity teaches photographers to achieve breakthroughs in their photography by developing a workflow that incorporates simplicity.
Together we will focus on the tools and practices that are essential for consistently high-quality single images or bodies of work.
Returning to Simplicity is ideal for any photographer who struggles with or needs clarification on their next steps.
Whether you are new to photography or have been wielding a camera for decades, the course focuses on how the choices you make while shooting, culling, and editing are critical to your success.
The course will cover:
- Making the camera an extension of your eye and mind
- Recognizing & Overcoming distractions/obstacles
- Optimizing your camera kit (camera, lens, strobes, etc)
- The Zen of the exposure triangle (iso, shutter speed, & aperture)
- The power of the thoughtful composition
- Moving through anxiety, self-doubt, and insecurity
- Flagging and rating images
- A consistent approach for evaluating and judging photographs
The in-person event involves applying the course principles in the field, followed by a group selection and critique session.
This is a course for any photographer who wants to go beyond taking photographs to make photographs that express how they see and experience the world.
