Videography: Capture Beautiful Moments

Join Videographer and Fine Art Photographer, Forest Barkdoll-Weil, in this 3 lesson workshop on how to capture beautiful moments through video. In this course you will learn how to plan, capture, and put together your video so that you are ready and confident to capture the moments that are the most beautiful and meaningful. You will leave this course with the necessary skills to pick up your camera and start recording amazing videos.

Lesson 1: Build your story

• Storyboarding – set yourself up for success by planning your video and story before you pick up your camera.
• Shot list – use your storyboard to detail the shots you want so you can confidently capture the moments needed to tell your story.
• Gear – organize the equipment you have that will be needed to get all the shots you want.
• Assignment – create a storyboard and a shot list for a 15s-30s video.

• A-Roll vs B-Roll
• Using composition for better video
• Capturing cinematic footage
• Assignment – go out and capture the footage from your shot list. Select 3-5 of your favorite clips to review.

• Organizing your footage
• Music and sound effects
• Basics of editing and cuts to create your story
• Assignment – Create the short video with music of your choice (I will encourage everyone to post it somewhere to get feedback and to feel confident that you can create video and share it to the world).
